Erin is a writer, editor, and type 1 diabetes advocate based in Utah, who has dedicated herself to raising awareness and supporting the cause.

Bio

Erin is a Utah-based writer, editor, and type 1 diabetes advocate who believes all great things can only be achieved with a light heart. Her son Sam, now 21, was diagnosed with diabetes at age four. Together, their walk team, “Yosemite Sam,” has raised over $37,000 for type 1 diabetes—her single best life achievement after her kids. 

An Indiana native, Erin graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, IN, with a degree in Telecommunications. She then transferred to Los Angeles for several years, working for a film production company, where she met her husband, Steve. The two now live in Salt Lake City, UT. As a freelance writer, Erin has travel writing, content writing, ghostwriting, biographies, and blog writing under her belt. She also completes line editing services, developmental book editing, and proofreading for various outlets. Her published work includes a variety of online and print mediums: Tripster.com, NBC affiliate KSL Television, Parent Guide News, BDR Publishing, Synergy Magazine, and Salt Lake Valley Journals, where she received the Utah Society of Professional Journalism Award for Minority Issues Reporting. When her nose isn’t glued to a book, Erin enjoys hiking with her family in the beautiful Cottonwood Canyons near her home and traveling to unique destinations. She has the utmost admiration for all type 1 strong heroes and believes a cure is due.
